Some solitude on the plane
Izzo Here:  I recently was required to go to a bachelor party for a college buddy of mine in Las Vegas.  I will spare you the details of the tomfoolery, (which there wasn't much of anyway) and get right down to the nitty gritty. If you've never been to Vegas, it's sensory overload, and the architecture has a lot to do with it.  But there is some really nice contemporary stuff out there, and some really nice googie stuff.  Here is a little taste of the trip.

JKRP 2013 Softball Season Opener

Blake here - After coming off a dominating performance in the preseason JKR Partners took the field last evening for the 2013 season/home opener.  They couldn’t have started it off any better scoring runs in every inning leading to a team record high of 32 runs and the most deliciously sweet taste of victory.  Maybe it was the life force in those bats, maybe it was the heart of each player combining like Voltron into one really big team heart, or maybe it was the fact that they actually looked like team in their fresh new jerseys, whatever the reason it doesn’t really matter.  At the end of the day the team’s spirit and enthusiasm reached a new high after last year’s winless season.  Thanks to the swinging power of newcomer Cory Slahta, the exponentially increasing skill level of the returning Miss Katherine “Katie” Brill, and those great looking new uniforms the future is bright for this squad.  The shock and awe campaign has just begun.

The Broad Street Run

Tim here - JKR Partners had quite a showing at the Broad Street Run last Sunday (May 5th).  Five of us from the office ran in the race (Laura, Lauren, Izzo, Tim, and Sean Sean Sean Sean).  Everyone did a fantastic job in this 10-mile race through the heart of Philadelphia, and did JKR Proud.

I had to take a very important call immediately after the race.
Laura thought that the crosswalk was the finish line.

Lauren smoked us all with a race time of 1:12:18

Not pictured: Sean Sullivan (Sean lost his numbers while rocking out to "Sweet Caroline" at the start line.)
Mike Izzo (Izzo ran into some technical difficulties.)

Southstar Lofts featured in the daily Metro Paper

Southstar in the daily Metro
Southstar Lofts, the 85 unit apartment building we designed at the corners of Broad and South Streets is still just a hole in the ground, but it's been generating some excitement along the Avenue of the Arts.  It recently received a pretty nice little endorsement in the daily Metro Paper.  South Street is heating up, and we're glad to be a part of it.

Ambler Theater voted one of the best theaters in Philly!

Philadelphia Magazine recently featured the area's best theaters in their May issue, and none other than our own Ambler Theater was picked as one of the best! It received a 4 star ranking, the highest you could get.  Not bad for an old theater.  Check out the article here.

Market Square
We took some professional photos of two of our projects yesterday. The H3 project at the intersection of Hope/Howard/Hancock Streets in Northern Liberties, and The Market Square project at Montrose and 8th Street in the Italian Market neighborhood.  This is just a little taste.
